Our Heritage | The Orinstone Story
In our hometown of Yanwashan, Changshan County, there is a timeless local proverb known as the Ode to Stone Appreciation. It is the philosophy upon which Orinstone was built:
- "A garden with stone is graceful; water with stone runs clear.
- A person with stone is noble; a home without stone lacks peace.
- A hall without stone lacks splendor; a study without stone lacks elegance."
Born in Yanwashan-affectionately known as the "Stone Village"-Orinstone is deeply intertwined with a community where 95% of the 2,100 residents are master artisans of flower stones, rockeries, and bonsai. Our brand's story is the story of this village: a journey of transforming raw, natural resources into a thriving, creative landscape industry that has paved the way to prosperity.

The Genesis: Carrying Our Future on Our Shoulders
To understand the core of Orinstone, one must look back to the early days of economic reform. Before the 1980s, our hometown was an impoverished mountain village. Stone sales were purely transactional, with raw, unpolished stones selling for just a few yuan.
The turning point for our local industry-and the foundational spirit of Orinstone-came when pioneers like former village party secretary Xu Chunyang took matters into their own hands. Carrying a 30-kilogram sack of stones on his shoulders, he traveled all the way to Nanchang to secure a 2,000 RMB purchase contract. That single, arduous journey opened the very first external sales channel for our village, planting the seeds for what would eventually become the Orinstone brand.
Following this breakthrough, our community began crafting stalagmites, rockeries, and bonsai, organically establishing East China's first bluestone and flower stone market right in our backyard.

The Artisan's Touch: Pioneering "Private Customization"
Today, Orinstone is defined by the hands of our master craftsmen. Walk into the courtyard of 70-year-old local artisan Xu Shefa, and you will see the living embodiment of our brand's dedication to craftsmanship.
Flanked by a breathtaking array of stones ingeniously planted with delicate orchids and yew trees, Master Xu can often be found with a pickaxe in hand, meticulously carving a rockery commissioned specifically for a client. This shift toward "private customization" is a hallmark of Orinstone. We don't just sell stones; we craft bespoke, living landscapes tailored to the unique aesthetic desires of our global clients.

Scaling Up: From Transit Hub to Landscape Innovator
As the new millennium dawned, our local market functioned primarily as a transit hub. As veteran industry leaders like Liu Xinhua recall, the year 2000 saw stones from across the country gather in Yanwashan, only to be shipped back out. But Orinstone recognized that to survive, we had to evolve.
Market Expansion: By 2010, our hometown launched the second phase of its stone market, expanding its footprint from a modest 4 acres to a sprawling 50 acres.
Comprehensive Services: We transitioned from solely selling local Changshan stone to sourcing nationwide landscape stones, expanding our portfolio to include full-scale landscape construction, garden design, and greening projects.
Adding Value Through Innovation: Recognizing that raw stone resources are finite, Orinstone shifted its focus from volume to value, investing heavily in the intrinsic cultural and artistic value of our products.

The Orinstone Philosophy: Rooted in Tradition, Driven by Creativity
From a humble village selling raw stones out of necessity to a modern brand selling creative design and cultural tourism, Orinstone represents the ultimate green transformation.
Our core driving force has always been a blend of honoring traditional techniques while relentlessly pursuing innovation. At Orinstone, we are proud of our roots in Yanwashan. We are bound by stone, enriched by stone, and evolved through stone. With every piece we craft, we share the soul of our hometown with the world-proving that with enough creativity, even the coldest stone can spark a vibrant, beautiful life.
